Rich Belanger has been a public relations executive since 1980. In 2002, he founded NutraPR, a business communications firm currently with offices in New York City and in the Capital District area of Troy, New York. Prior to opening NutraPR, he was a principal in The Mammoth Group, a healthcare public relations agency that was responsible for the remarkable turnaround of Concord purple grape juice from mature brand to health food, growing its bottled business by 34%. He has directed product and service-driven media relations strategies for ASTA Medica, Roche, PolyMedica, McNeil Consumer Products, SunMaid, Allied Signal, Hiram Walker, Paddington Corporation (J&B Scotch), and the Southland Corporation. His non-profit work includes the Arthritis Foundation, National Psoriasis Foundation, Women’s Heart Foundation and Sustainable Harvest International. Internationally, he has represented Tourism Canada, Montreal Convention & Tourism Bureau, Flower Council of Holland and the Dutch Bulb Exporters Association. He started his public relations career with National Marine Manufacturers Association, following service time with the U.S. Coast Guard as a photojournalist. He has been interviewed in USA Today, Business Week, The New York Times, WOR and National Public Radio. He has a B.A. in English from the University of Southern Maine, and attended the U.S. Defense Information School.
